According to Copernicus, June 2023 is hottest June ever recorded

06/07/23 (Agence Europe)In its monthly bulletin, Copernicus has once again reported alarming temperature anomalies. According to the EU’s Earth Observation Programme, June 2023 saw a record global average temperature, thereby exceeding the previous record, set in June 2019, by 0.37°C. The global average temperature for June was 16.51°C—an increase of around 0.5°C compared to the average for the 1991–2020 reference period. In Europe, this increase comes to 0.75°C. The oceans have particularly suffered from the overheating caused by climate change and the return of the ‘El Niño’ phenomenon. Furthermore, Antarctic sea ice reached its lowest level for June since satellite observations began, with a level 17% below the average. Read the climate bulletin: https://aeur.eu/f/7y4 (NP)
