EU welcomes adoption of UN resolution on new mechanism on fate of missing people

03/07/23 (Agence Europe) – On Sunday 2 July, the spokesperson for the European External Action Service welcomed the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of a resolution on 29 June (83 votes in favour, 11 against and 62 abstentions) aimed at establishing a new mechanism to shed light on the fate of missing people in Syria. The resolution also addresses their whereabouts and calls for essential support to meet the needs of victims, survivors and families of missing people....
