03/07/23 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 30 June, the European Commission launched consultations on the two parts of the ‘open finance framework’ unveiled on 28 June (see EUROPE 13211/15). The first of the two consultations aims to gather contributions on data sharing and third-party access in a number of sectors, and financial products. The European Commission will present them to the European Parliament and the Council of the EU to feed into the legislative debate. The second consultation, based on the same principle, will focus on the future ‘PSD3’ directive, which should eventually replace the current Payment Services Directive (‘PSD2’). In particular, the text provides for service providers to be able to share information relating to payment fraud.
