08/06/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 8 June, negotiators from the European Parliament and the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the European Union reached a provisional political agreement on the rapid deployment of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) (see EUROPE 13195/13). In a press release, the European Parliament welcomes the fact that it has secured coverage for a greater number of services (emergency services, booking and ticketing services, communication between cars and infrastructure) and road and traffic data (speed limits, traffic conditions, traffic restrictions) that will be shared online. The deadlines for making the new information available digitally vary, depending on the type of data, over a period ranging from the end of 2025 to the end of 2028. (MB)
