EU calls for elections in 2023

08/06/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Union, through its ambassador to Libya, José Sabadell, has joined UNSMIL in calling on all Libyan players to resolve all outstanding issues and urging them to refrain from any delaying tactics aimed at prolonging the current political impasse in order to organise the elections. “Libya needs elections to renew the legitimacy of its institutions”, it warned on Twitter, when the polls should have taken place in 2021.
