MEPs approve provisional agreement on Chips Act

23/05/2023 (Agence Europe) – Members of the European Parliament’s Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) approved the European Parliament/EU Council provisional agreement on the ‘Chips Act’ on Tuesday 23 May (60 votes in favour, 1 against and 2 abstentions). The Member States already gave their agreement on 10 May (see EUROPE B13179A3). All that remains is for Parliament to vote in plenary so that the Council can then formally adopt the regulation.
