Opening of Budapest metro line renovated with EU funds

23/05/23 (Agence Europe) – The renovated M3 or ‘blue’ metro line in Budapest, Hungary, was inaugurated and opened to passengers, the European Commission announced on Monday 22 May. The renovation of this line (the longest in the city at 17.4 km) and 20 metro stations started in November 2017 and benefitted from €453 million in Cohesion Policy funding from the 2014-2020 programming period, out of a total budget of €591 million.
