12/05/2023 (Agence Europe) – The Portuguese Minister of Foreign Affairs, João Gomes Cravinho, announced on Thursday 11 May, in a press release published at the end of his joint visit with his Belgian counterpart, Hadja Lahbib, to Tunisia, at the request of the High Representative of the Union, that “new avenues for deepening the relationship between the EU and Tunisia in the short and long term, based on the spirit of partnership and the fundamental principles, have been discussed”. “This trip has been an opportunity to iron out some differences, to agree on the future, to review the richness of our past and future collaboration, and to see what solutions there are to economic, financial, migration and political problems”, added Ms Lahbib from Stockholm on 12 May. In Tunis, Mr Gomes Cravinho and Ms Lahbib met President Kais Saied and their counterpart, Nabil Ammar. (CG)
