European Commission raises ceilings for aid allowed for certain disadvantaged regions in Hungary

The European Commission announced on Friday 12 May that it had approved a modification of the regional aid map for Hungary for the 2022-2027 period. The review was carried out under the revised guidelines on national regional aid.

This decision will allow Hungary to increase the maximum amounts of investment aid available to identified disadvantaged territories. Thus, the maximum amounts of aid will be increased from 50 to 60% of the eligible investment costs in certain parts of the Dél-Dunántúl and Észak-Magyarország regions.

These territories are located in regions eligible for aid under Article 107(3)(a) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, which allows Member States to support the most disadvantaged regions. (Original version in French by Émilie Vanderhulst)
