Public consultation launched to ban EU exports of dangerous chemicals banned in EU

On Monday 8 May the European Commission launched a call for evidence and a 12-week public consultation to prepare a regulation to ban the production for export of certain chemicals banned in the EU because of their hazardous properties and/or unacceptable risks to human health or the environment.

This legislative initiative is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2023 to better protect public health and the environment in third countries. It will thus meet a requirement of the EU’s...
