28/04/2023 (Agence Europe) – A new Eurobarometer published on Friday 28 April underlines that traineeships are an important stepping stone for young people’s integration into the labour market, says the Commission in a statement. “Four out of five young people surveyed (78%) have completed at least one work placement and one in five (19%) had their first work experience as a trainee. According to the survey, seven out of ten respondents (68%) found a job following a traineeship, more than half of them (39%) with the same employer”. A majority of the young people who participated in the survey (76%) generally agreed that they had learnt things useful from a professional perspective during their traineeship. Six months after their last traineeship, the vast majority of young people were either employed (68%) or in education (18%), while only 6% were unemployed.
