EEAS considers it imperative to “urgently restore” Kosovo Serb participation in local governance in north of country

The European External Action Service (EEAS) reacted on Monday 24 April to the low turnout - mainly among Serbian citizens - in the four mayoral and two municipal assembly by-elections that took place this weekend in northern Kosovo.

“These elections do not offer a long-term political solution for these municipalities. This can only be achieved through the permanent return of Kosovo Serbs to the institutions, and Kosovo’s willingness to allow this to happen”, commented the EEAS.
