A few months after the creation of the EU-India Council (see EUROPE 13115/10), its first meeting on trade and technology (TTC) will be held on 15-16 May, according to an EU Council working document of which EUROPE received a copy. The participants will meet in Brussels for this first meeting, an EU source told EUROPE.
The Permanent Representatives of the Member States to the EU authorised the European Commission to negotiate a joint declaration with New Delhi, which will be adopted at the meeting. This document should “reaffirm the political commitment of the EU and India to the TTC”, say the Permanent Representatives. It should also “establish work plans and provide guidance to the three Working Groups established under the TTC”.
