03/04/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 3 April, the European Commission approved a €30 million Italian aid scheme to support bus transport companies in the context of Russia’s war against Ukraine. The scheme was approved under the Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework for State Aid adopted by the Commission on 9 March 2023. The scheme consists of reintroducing a measure that the Commission had approved in October 2022, and expired on 31 December 2022. The aid is intended to address the lack of liquidity commercial bus companies suffer due to the current geopolitical crisis. Under the scheme, beneficiaries may receive limited amounts of aid through direct grants. (LC)
