02/02/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission appointed Marion Lalisse on Wednesday 1 February as the new Coordinator on combating anti-Muslim hatred. She will be responsible for working with Member States, EU institutions, academia and civil society to strengthen anti-discrimination measures and will be the main contact point for organisations active in this field in the EU. “We need to fight hatred against Muslims in all areas, including education, employment and social policy. We also need to collect data on all cases of anti-Muslim hatred and discrimination, and monitor and combat any such manifestations”, said Commissioner for Equality Helena Dalli on the occasion of the appointment.
