16/12/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 16 December, based on the results of a survey it conducted, the European Commission estimated that professionals in the cultural sector are largely in favour of the creation of a digital collaborative Cloud platform for cultural heritage. The European Commission launched a dialogue with Member States on 21 June on the joint creation of this collaborative platform to encourage cooperation and co-creation between the culture and technology sectors. The envisaged budget was €110 million until 2025 under the ‘Horizon Europe’ programme. According to the survey results, respondents prioritised digital interaction, including tools for creating, sharing and reusing interactive content on the Cloud (43.3%), and artificial intelligence-assisted metadata enrichment tools (37%).
