29/11/2022 (Agence Europe) – Frenchman Pascal Durand, a member of the Greens/EFA group in the previous legislature, will leave the Renew Europe group to join the S&D group in the European Parliament. “Despite our clear differences on nuclear energy, for example, we have always enjoyed working together in the name of our European ideal. (...) Pascal made his choice following the Swedish elections”, reacted the French delegation of Renew Europe, on Tuesday 29 November, in a press release. It pointed out that the centre-right parliamentary group had suspended the activities of Karin Karlsbro, the representative of the Liberalerna party, after it decided to join the government coalition in Sweden supported by the far right. Ms Karlsbro is still a member of the Renew Europe group. (MB)
