EU takes note of agreement between Government of National Unity and Turkey on hydrocarbons

04/10/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Monday, 3 October, the spokesperson for the European External Action Service (EEAS) took note of reports indicating that, earlier that day, Turkey and Libya’s Government of National Unity had signed an agreement on hydrocarbon exploration in Libyan territorial waters and on Libyan soil, which was based on the 2019 Memorandum of Understanding on delimitation of maritime jurisdiction areas in the Mediterranean.
