Brussels, 21/09/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) announced, on Wednesday 21 September, the cities that will host the European Scientific Conference on Applied Infectious Disease Epidemiology (ESCAIDE). The conference brings together scientists, policy makers and public health authorities to exchange knowledge and best practices in the fight against infectious diseases. The annual event is held alternately in Stockholm and in a Member State. Warsaw had already been selected before the Covid-19 pandemic to host the conference in 2025. Seven states sent in nominations for the remaining dates. The selection was made on the basis of elements such as the representation of states at previous editions, the suitability of event venues or the accessibility of travel to the chosen destinations. Barcelona has been selected to host ESCAIDE in 2023 and Prague has been selected for 2027. (EV)
