ESMA withdraws UnaVista from list of trade repositories

21/09/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) withdrew, on Wednesday 21 September, the trade repository registration of UnaVista TRADEcho B.V. (UnaVista), under the ‘SFTR ‘ regulation on transparency in securities financing. All UnaVista clients have already been transferred to a trade repository of their choice. This decision follows UnaVista’s formal notification to ESMA of its intention to renounce its trade repository registration under the conditions set out in Article 10(1)(a) of the SFTR Regulation, which provides for the reporting of items such as collateral composition, for transparency reasons. UnaVista was registered as a trade repository on 7 May 2020. The SFTR Regulation provides that ESMA shall withdraw the authorisation of a trade repository where the trade repository expressly renounces its registration. (AD)
