12/09/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission plans to present a proposal for a regulation on carbon certification on 30 November, according to the institution’s provisional agenda. According to the initiative’s roadmap, this certification framework will need to identify the types of carbon removals to be considered and set stringent requirements for measurement quality, monitoring, reporting and verification (see EUROPE 12886/12). The Commission also intends to unveil a proposal to revise the CO2 emission standards for new heavy goods vehicles (over 16 tonnes - see EUROPE 12858/18) on the same day. (DG)
