05/09/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced, on Monday 5 September, the adoption of the Just Transition Fund (JTF) programme for Sweden for an amount of €155.7 million. The aim is to support the counties of Norrboten, Västerbotten and Gotland in their ‘green’ transition, says the European institution. The identification of these territories is specified in the territorial plans of just transition and defined in the framework of the negotiations of the Partnership Agreements 2021-2027 adopted in June (see EUROPE 12974/14). So far, a national plan has been adopted for Greece, a national plan for Sweden, a plan for Austria (with another to be adopted shortly) and another for Germany, namely North Rhine-Westphalia, the Commission said. However, the implementation of the JTF remains slow (see EUROPE 12833/10). (PH)
