European Commission orders recovery of illegal aid from Ryanair and Jet2 in relation to their activities at La Rochelle Airport

On Tuesday 26 July, the European Commission decided to ask France to recover from Ryanair and Jet2, in the context of activities at La Rochelle airport, State aid deemed illegal, amounting to approximately €8.4 million and €81,000 respectively.

In addition, the Commission has authorised, under EU State aid rules, several French aid measures granted between 2001 and 2012 to the French airports of Beauvais and La Rochelle.
