22/07/2022 (Agence Europe) – The Council of the European Union formally adopted on Friday 22 July two decisions granting Ukraine €500 million in additional EU military assistance under the European Peace Facility, following the agreement reached in the Foreign Affairs Council earlier this week (see EUROPE 12995/2). Of this envelope, €490 million of this can be used to provide defensive weapons and €10 million to provide protective equipment and fuel. Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, EU military aid to Kyiv has amounted to €2.5 billion, while the Facility has been allocated just under €5.7 billion for the period 2021-2027.
