The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, ECDC, announced, on Thursday 21 July, that it has been selected as part of the EHDS2 Pilot consortium for a European Commission call for projects to propose a pilot version of the European Health Data Space (see EUROPE 12944/11).
This pilot project will be funded under the European Union’s health programme, EU4Health.
The European Medicines Agency (EMA) is also one of the 16 stakeholders of the consortium, along with national public health infrastructures, research infrastructures, health associations and national platforms.
The consortium is led by the French Health Data Science Hub. The consortium announces that it will work on a network of data source platforms established by connecting the national platforms of the participating states in order to assess the relevance of such a model at European level for the re-use of health data for research, innovation, regulatory and public policy development and for the development of personalised health care.
Concrete tests will be carried out by the consortium. The first work on this project will start in September. (Original version in French by Émilie Vanderhulst)
