Artificial intelligence, Josianne Cutajar’s report for opinion adopted by European Parliament Transport Committee

12/07/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 12 July, MEPs on the European Parliament’s Transport Committee voted in favour of the draft report for opinion by Josianne Cutajar (S&D, Malta) on harmonised rules for artificial intelligence (‘AI Act’) (37 votes in favour, four against, one abstention) (see EUROPE 12983/19). It should also be noted that the members of the European Parliament’s Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI) will vote on Wednesday 13 July on the report for opinion by German MEP Axel Voss (EPP) on the same subject (see EUROPE 12928/24). The Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) and the Committee on Culture and Education (CULT) have already adopted their reports for opinion on this dossier on 14 June (see EUROPE 12971/31) and 15 June (see EUROPE 12973/34) respectively.
