05/07/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday, 5 July, a consortium of 30 entities—including companies, associations, and players in the research sector from nine EU Member States—launched the ‘FLOW’ project, which aims to promote the concept of electric mobility. Funded by the Horizon Europe framework programme, the project has a total budget of around €10 million; its purpose will be to test, validate, and improve energy exchange systems among vehicles, buildings, and grids. While the European Parliament and the Council of the EU recently took a position on ending the sale of new cars, commercial vehicles, and vans with combustion engines in 2035, the solutions developed in the context of the project are to be used to provide solutions in preparation for the mass deployment of electric vehicles (see EUROPE 12982/9).
