27/06/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 27 June, the European Commission launched a call for evidence, inviting all interested parties to provide information on the proposed revision of the de minimis Regulation. Under the current rules, Member States can grant support of up to €200,000 per beneficiary over a period of three years (‘de minimis threshold’) without prior notification to the Commission for approval. This amount is therefore not considered to be state aid. The current rules will expire at the end of 2023. The proposed amendments aim to update the current de minimis threshold in line with past inflation and to improve transparency requirements. In addition, in line with the outcome of the 2019 State aid fitness check, the Commission is considering introducing a mandatory register of beneficiaries. The consultation will be open until 25 July 2022. See the consultation: https://aeur.eu/f/2c1 (LC)
