27/06/2022 (Agence Europe) – BusinessEurope, DIGITALEUROPE, ERT, Eurochambres and Eurocommerce issued a joint statement on Monday 27 June expressing concern about the lack of progress in deepening the internal market in recent years. “We are troubled by the European Union’s lack of initiative to really deepen the Single Market in the past decade. Businesses no longer experience the Single Market as a true free trade area”, says the statement. For these European associations, European legislation “too often” allows for differentiated transposition in the Member States and the Commission’s monitoring policy “is lacking teeth” with regard to Member States that introduce national rules, which leads to increased market fragmentation. This is particularly challenging for SMEs that want to open their operations in the EU. To read the statement: https://aeur.eu/f/2cc (PH)
