The Horizon Europe joint undertaking “Circular bio-based Europe” (CBE JU) launched its first call for projects on 22 June. CBE JU is a €2 billion public-private partnership set up by the European Commission on behalf of the European Union and the Bio-based Industries Consortium. CBE JU aims to foster research into bio-based solutions for the production of chemicals, materials, food and feed ingredients and soil fertilisers. It operates in the context of the EU’s renewed strategy for the bioeconomy and in line with the ‘European Green Deal’.
The first call for projects of the CBE JU is endowed with €120 million. This call is open until 22 September at 5pm. Applicants should receive the results of the evaluation of their application by February 2023, and the first grant agreements should be signed with selected applicants by the end of May 2023.
