European Commission approves a new geographical indication for France

Brussels, 23/06/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced, on Thursday 23 June, that it had accepted the application to register ‘Cidre du Perche/Perche’ from France in the register of protected designations of origin (PDO). This drink is an effervescent semi-dry or brut cider, obtained by taking foam in the bottle, not pasteurised and not carbonated. It is made from pure cider apple juice of specific varieties.
