16/05/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 16 May the European Commission launched a telephone helpline in Ukrainian and Russian to help people fleeing Ukraine, a statement said. Since the end of March, the Commission, through the Europe Direct centre, “has answered written questions in Ukrainian and Russian and this service is now also available by phone”. The helpline provides practical information ranging from entry and travel requirements in the EU to accessing rights and opportunities, such as education, employment or healthcare. The helpline can be contacted within the EU on 00 800 6 7 8 9 10 11, where the service is free of charge, and outside the EU on +32 22 99 96 96, where the standard international rate applies, the statement added.
