16/05/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Monday 16 May that it had signed an agreement with the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) on the European Earth observation programme Copernicus, establishing “a reciprocal exchange of Earth observation satellite data”. The CSA is committed to providing end-users in Canada with easy and simplified access to Copernicus data. Copernicus services will provide near-real-time data on a global scale through satellite systems and in situ systems such as ground-based sensors. This agreement will allow the refinement of Copernicus services. Other possibilities for cooperation between the EU and Canada are being discussed, the EU institution says. (PH)
