11/04/2022 (Agence Europe) – European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has announced that more than €10 billion was raised on Saturday 9 April in Warsaw at the ‘Stand up for Ukraine’ event to help the 4.5 million Ukrainian refugees who have arrived in the EU since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, as well as internally displaced Ukrainians. The International Donors’ Conference, co-organised with Canada, brought together a number of artists. In addition to the €9.1 billion in public and private donations collected at the event, of which €1 billion came from the EU, another €1 billion was provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, of which €600 million will go to Ukraine, and €400 million to countries bordering Ukraine such as Poland.
