06/04/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission moved to the second stage of its infringement proceeding against Malta on Wednesday 6 April, sending a reasoned opinion regarding the existence of citizenship by investment schemes (“golden passports”) in the country. In March, Valletta announced the suspension of its golden passports for Russian and Belarusian nationals (see EUROPE B12902A10).
