25/03/2022 (Agence Europe) – In their conclusions on Friday 25 March, the European Heads of State and Government called on the leaders of Bosnia and Herzegovina to show a “strong commitment” to rapidly completing their constitutional and electoral reform, which is “essential for the stability and full functionality of the country”, and to support all the other priority reforms that were set out in the Commission’s opinion in order that they may obtain EU candidate status. They expressed their readiness to continue their high-level engagement with regard to this. The leaders also reaffirmed the EU’s commitment to the European perspective of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkans. While the discussions focused on “the protracted political crisis” in the country, there was no direct mention in the conclusions of the secessionist aspirations of Republika Srpska. (CG)
