Brussels, 25/03/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 25 March, the European Commission endorsed a €13.9 million Croatian scheme to support the Croatian fishery and aquaculture sector in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Commission validated the reintroduction until 30 June 2022 of a measure initially approved by the Commission in April 2020 and subsequently amended. The amendments are the following: an overall budget increase by €9.9 million and a change in the calculation method of the aid amount per beneficiary, (based on vessel length and fishing techniques). Public support will take the form of direct grants to meet the cash flow needs of beneficiaries. The aid will not exceed €345 000 per beneficiary and will be granted no later than 30 June 2022. (LC)
