25/03/2022 (Agence Europe) – North Korea’s launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile into the Sea of Japan on 24 March “is a violation of multiple United Nations (UN) Security Council Resolutions”, according to the EU, which condemned the event (see EUROPE 12878/21) on 25 March. It considers that this move by the country threatens regional security. “The EU calls on all UN Members to take action to implement in full the UN Security Council sanctions”, said European External Action Service spokeswoman Nabila Massrali. This missile launch was discussed by G7 members at their meeting on 24 March, according to Japanese Foreign Ministry press officer Hikariko Ono. “G7 leaders agreed to further coordinate in their response to North Korea’s provocative actions”, she said.
