10/02/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Railways Community (ERC) called, at its General Assembly on Wednesday 9 February, for more effective cooperation between actors in the logistics chain to improve the performance and reliability of international rail transport. In addition, the ERC also approved a position paper in which it sets out the key principles for achieving “far-reaching” reform, including a reorganisation of working hours. “More than eight years after the start of the operational use of rail freight corridors, it can be seen that the market share of rail in European freight transport has not increased. Therefore, the forthcoming revision of the regulation could contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of the corridors”, the ERC said in a statement. (TM)
