10/02/2022 (Agence Europe) – The Omani Undersecretary for Diplomatic Affairs, Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Issa Al Harthy, and the Deputy Director General of the EEAS, Carl Hallergård, discussed on Tuesday 8 February the cooperation between Oman and the EU on the trade and economic agenda and the global agenda. “The main topics discussed were bilateral trade issues, the green transition, science and innovation and security, including maritime safety”, they said in a joint statement. They also explored possibilities for cooperation in peace facilitation and conflict prevention. Mr Hallergård said he was keen to further strengthen the “close partnership” between the EU and Oman, “from trade and investment to the green transition, education and tourism, in particular to help Oman implement its Vision 2040”.
