The European Commission decided on Wednesday 2 February to extend the availability of real-time road traffic data in the European Union.
Through the adoption of the revision of the current rules, the authorities and entities in charge of the operation of regional and urban roads will have to provide data on traffic conditions. The old rules were limited to data for motorways, priority areas and Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) roads.
