10/12/2021 (Agence Europe) – Two delegated acts implementing the new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) will be adopted by the EU Council of Agriculture and Fisheries Ministers on Sunday 12 December. Indeed, the Special Committee on Agriculture (SCA) decided on 10 December not to oppose the delegated regulations in question (the first one on additional requirements in the strategic plans under the CAP 2023-2027, the second one concerning paying agencies, financial management and clearance of accounts). The European Parliament, on the other hand, did not want to give its green light quickly. It intends to do so in January 2022. But this should not disrupt the process of submitting national strategic plans on the CAP, which must be submitted to the Commission by 31 December 2021, according to an EU source (see EUROPE 12848/5).
