12/11/2021 (Agence Europe) – A new tripartite agreement between the European Court of Auditors (ECA), the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Commission has been signed, announced the European Court of Auditors in a press release that was published on Thursday 11 November. This cooperation will give the Court of Auditors greater access to EIB documents and data relating to activities carried out under the mandate from the European Commission. The agreement clarifies the timeline for receiving the necessary audit documents and in what format, rules on confidentiality and data protection, methods of collecting evidence and access to information. After extensive discussions, which have been taking place since January 2020, the parties have signed this renewed Tripartite Agreement on access to EIB audit evidence and data for the purpose of audits of EU expenditure managed by the EIB.
