12/11/2021 (Agence Europe) – MEPs have revised their negotiating position on the draft regulation on cross-border health threats. On Thursday 11 November, they adopted a series of amendments that will be added to their initial position, which was approved last September (see EUROPE 12792/12). These amendments, previously detailed in our columns (see EUROPE 12829/22), are mainly aimed at integrating references to HERA, the newly created EU Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (see EUROPE 12792/24), into the text. It is on the basis of this revised mandate that MEPs will negotiate the final version of the regulation with the EU Council, starting on 18 November.
