08/11/2021 (Agence Europe) – The Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies (CER) and the European Transport Workers’ Federation (ETF) signed an agreement on Friday 5 November to promote the employment of women in the railway sector. This agreement, which entered into force upon signature, provides for a number of measures to ensure protection and equal treatment for women in the workplace. Among these measures, the emphasis is on work-life balance, health, prevention of sexual harassment, career development and equal pay. Companies in the sector now have 12 months to establish a suitable policy and 24 months to implement it. This agreement will be re-evaluated by both entities after this two-year period. (TM)
