04/11/2021 (Agence Europe) – On the evening of Wednesday 3 November, the European External Action Service (EEAS) announced that the Joint Commission of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) will convene in a physical format on 29 November in Vienna (see EUROPE 12822/23). It will be attended by representatives of China, France, Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom and Iran, and will be chaired by the Deputy Secretary General/Political Director of the European External Action Service, Enrique Mora. “Participants will continue the discussions on the prospect of a possible return of the United States to the JCPOA and how to ensure the full and effective implementation of the agreement by all sides”, the EEAS said. On Thursday 4 November, Iranian President Ebrahim Raissi warned that the Iranians would not leave the negotiating table, but that Tehran would reject any “excessive demands” from the West. (CG)
