New president of Renew Europe to be elected on 19 October

06/10/2021 (Agence Europe) – The Renew Europe group will elect its new president on Tuesday 19 October in Strasbourg after the resignation of Dacian Cioloș on 2 October (see EUROPE 12804/27). Applications must be submitted by Tuesday 12 October. On Wednesday 6 October, the Frenchman Stephane Séjourné announced his candidacy. “My aim is to respect our diversity and to affirm our ambition. Our unity will be our strength”, he explained in his announcement. Mr Séjourné is already the chairman of the French delegation of the Renew Europe group. (CG)
