01/10/2021 (Agence Europe) – Members of the European Committee of the Regions’ (CoR) Commission for Economic Policy (ECON) adopted an opinion on Wednesday 29 September in which they called for greater involvement in national recovery plans. They expect the European Commission to clearly define the role of local and regional authorities in the implementation, planning, and evaluation of national recovery plans. They also call for better coordination between the national recovery plans and the programming of the structural and investment funds 2021-2027. The lack of consideration of the territorial issue in the recovery plans has indeed been a major source of concern for the regions for several months now (see EUROPE 12798/7).
