17/09/2021 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Friday 17 September that it has approved the modification of two operational programmes of the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived (FEAD) for an amount of €4.7 billion to be paid to Italy in the framework of REACT-EU to respond to the consequences of the pandemic. These funds should support the hiring of young people and women in the first place, while protecting SMEs in several Italian regions and thereby employment. Reprogramming is going well. On 15 September 2021, €31 billion was allocated through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the ESF, according to the latest figures from the European Commission.
