17/09/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 17 September, European External Action Service spokesman Peter Stano denied press reports that Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte is expected to propose an EU-UK security deal to his British counterpart Boris Johnson. “This information is not true. [...] Any proposed framework for cooperation on foreign, security or defence policy issues between the EU and the UK would first have to be discussed and agreed by the Member States”, Stano stressed. He added that the EU was ready to cooperate with London on these issues. “It takes two to tango; the EU is ready to dance”, the spokesperson added. (CG)
